NKB Media Supports the Panchahuli Women Weavers.

Panchachuli MtnsPanchachuli Women Weavers was born in 1998 as a result of the dream of a handful of village women from the region of Almora in the Kumaon Himalayan Mountains of Uttaranchal the famous area known as the abode of Lord Krishna. This dream of a better life, to bring social and economic empowerment for women and their families was necessary to break free of the shackles of servitude and toil that kept them in poverty. A dream, shared by Dena Kaye, daughter of the legendary Danny Kaye, was made possible through Dena’s wholehearted generosity and love. The Panchachuli Women Weavers Co-op also supports the only modern hospital in Almora as well as a leper colony in Almora where the natural plant dyes are made.

Today Panchachuli is a strong and self-reliant family of over 1000 women, professionWomen Weaversal in weaving and its related skills.
